Vic: Police hunt man over three armed robberies

MELBOURNE, Aug 11 AAP - Police are hunting a man believed to be responsible for three
armed robberies in Melbourne's northern and inner suburbs overnight.

The first incident occurred just after 7pm (AEST) at a fast food outlet on Barry Rd,
Campbellfield.

It was reported a man produced what appeared to be a firearm and threatened the store
attendant, who handed over cash from the till.

The man then fled on foot east along Sydney Road towards the Hume Highway.

The second incident occurred about 7.20pm at a service station on Sydney Rd in Fawkner
where police believe the same man threatened a store attendant with a firearm and demanded
money.

He then fled on foot south along Sydney Road towards Lynch Road with cash.

The third alleged armed robbery occurred about 10pm at a fast food restaurant in Swanston
Street, Carlton.

The man entered the store, approached staff at the counter and used the firearm to
threaten staff before fleeing on foot towards Grattan Street with cash.

He is described as European, aged in his mid-30s, about 163cm tall with a solid build
and a chubby face.

During the robberies the man is believed to have been wearing a black and white baseball
cap and a long dark jacket.
