Vic: More to be done in war on terror: Beazley

KIM BEAZLEY says our government hasn't done enough to protect Australia from terrorism.

His comments follow a Daily Telegraph poll .. which found more than half of Australians
surveyed in NSW and the ACT believe an attack on home soil is likely in the next year.

Three-quarters of the 572 people surveyed in Sydney .. Newcastle .. NSW and the ACT
say the war on terrorism is being lost.

The opposition leader says government has been weak on practical measures.

Mr BEAZLEY says we need a full-time inspector of transport security .. x-ray scans
for all baggage at airports .. better scrutiny at Australia's ports and a coastguard.
