Boingo Expanding Wi-Fi to Urban Retail Shopping Destinations

Boingo Wireless, Inc., a Wi-Fi provider of software and services worldwide, announced it is operating the Wi-Fi services at three shopping malls in the U.S. through a partnership with Urban Retail Properties that includes The Citadel, Colorado Springs, CO; Manhattan Tower Center, Manhattan, KS; and Oakland Mall, Troy, MI.

Boingo said its retail offering - based on the company's neutral host roaming platform - is available now throughout the common areas of each mall, including the main concourses as well as food courts and restaurants. Guests can access Boingo Wi-Fi on their laptops, netbooks, tablets and smartphones.
"Internet access is important to our retailers and their customers, because today's consumers often use the latest mobile technology to enhance their shopping experience," said Ross Glickman, Chairman and CEO of Urban Retail. "The superior performance of Wi-Fi is a value-add we can offer on-the-go shoppers who want to stay connected without dealing with 3G/4G coverage or throughput issues."

The Company noted that existing Boingo customers now have even more venues where they can surf the Internet and enjoy an online connection. Boingo Wi-Fi offerings available to Urban Retail patrons include hourly passes and monthly subscriptions for laptops and mobile devices.

Urban Retail Properties, LLC is an independent, privately held company, and has been the developer for more than 75 projects, which include shopping destinations and mixed-use projects.
